Vietnam borders fully reopened, Alma is ready to welcome international guests

Vietnam was closed for travel for roughly two years as the result of the resurgence of Covid-19. During most of this time our resort Alma managed to stay open, and only needed to pause temporarily for 8 months.

The restrictions have been lifted, and we are happy to announce that Alma is able to welcome international travelers once again from 15th March 2022.

We will not to do Covid test upon check in and will do it only if the guest has symptoms or upon guest requests.

As the #1 family-friendly resort in Vietnam, and the largest 5-star resort in Cam Ranh, we are more than excited to welcome families, couples and groups from around the world.

Which countries are visa-exempt to enter Vietnam?

The Vietnamese government announced that starting from 15 March 2022 Vietnam will resume its visa exemption policy for 13 countries for up to 15 days regardless of the purpose of entry. This applies to citizens of the following countries:

  • Belarus

  • Denmark

  • Finland

  • France

  • Germany

  • Italy

  • Japan

  • Norway

  • Russia

  • South Korea

  • Spain

  • Sweden

  • United Kingdom

This news has been awaited in the entire travel and tourism sector of Vietnam, as well as hundreds of thousands of travelers who were waiting to visit Vietnam once the borders reopen. Alma Resort is located just a short drive away from the Cam Ranh International Airport, which means guests do not need to travel via Ho Chi Minh City or Hanoi.

Tourist arrivals in Vietnam have been steadily increasing before the pandemic, averaging above 1 million monthly arrivals from 2015 until 2020, reaching an all-time high of 1.9 million in January of 2020 and a record low of less than 9 thousand in June of 2020.

The visa exemption policy had been in place prior to the pandemic. Further details on entry procedures are awaited from the government.

Tourist entry requirements in Vietnam

According to the latest protocols from The Ministry of Health, foreigners entering Vietnam only need to present a negative PCR test certificate and are not required to be quarantined.

The test must have been done using the RT-PCR method within 72 hours before departure or the rapid antigen method within 24 hours.

Those who cannot take a test before arrival have to be tested within 24 hours after entering and can leave their accommodation if they are not infected.

Further requirements while staying in Vietnam

Visitors are required to monitor their health for the first 10 days after arrival and notify medical staff if they have symptoms of Covid. Travelers must also use the PC-Covid app during their stay in Vietnam. Children under two years are exempt from testing.
